Description
Spider-Gwen #3 B is a standout early variant from Gwen Stacy’s second ongoing series. This edition features the scarce 1:25 retailer incentive cover by writer and artist Jason Latour. The cover pairs Gwen with Spider Ham in a playful design tied closely to the Spider Verse era.
The incentive status gives this copy added collector appeal. Retailers had to meet ordering requirements to receive the variant. As a result, fewer copies entered the market compared with the regular cover. That scarcity makes it especially appealing to Spider Gwen and Spider Ham collectors.
The issue contains “Greater Power Part Three,” written by Jason Latour. Robbi Rodriguez provides the interior pencils and inks. Rico Renzi handles the colors, continuing the bold visual identity associated with Gwen’s early adventures.
The story finds Gwen still dealing with the emotional weight of Spider Verse. Instead of staying entirely on Earth 65, she travels to Earth 616. Her goal is to speak with Jessica Drew, the established Spider Woman of that reality.
That meeting gives the issue much of its emotional strength. Jessica has far more experience with superhero life and understands the burden that comes with extraordinary abilities. Gwen is still trying to understand what kind of hero she wants to become.
Her visit also forces Gwen to confront something deeply personal. Earth 616 had its own Gwen Stacy, and that version of Gwen died years earlier. Learning more about that history makes her journey through another reality far more meaningful.
The story explores responsibility without simply repeating familiar Spider Man themes. Gwen must decide what those ideas mean for her own life. Her guilt over Peter Parker remains an important part of that struggle.
Back on Earth 65, the supporting story continues to build around George Stacy and the consequences surrounding Gwen’s secret life. Peter Parker’s death remains connected to many of the problems facing both Gwen and her father.
The issue also continues developing the unusual Earth 65 version of Matt Murdock. His presence gives the series a darker edge and helps build threats that become increasingly important as the story continues.
Robbi Rodriguez’s artwork remains one of the defining elements of the series. His expressive figures and unusual layouts give Gwen’s world its own visual personality. Rico Renzi’s colors add another layer of energy to that distinctive style.
The real collector attraction here is Jason Latour’s 1:25 cover. Latour was not only the series writer but also one of the key creative voices behind Gwen’s development. Having his artwork on a limited incentive edition gives the book an added connection to the creative history of Spider Gwen.
Spider Ham adds even more personality to the cover. His appearance connects the variant visually with the wider Spider Verse concept that helped bring Gwen to a much larger audience.
This is not a major first appearance, but it has several strong collecting angles. It is an early Spider Gwen issue, a retailer incentive variant, a Jason Latour cover, and a Spider Ham cover appearance. Those features make it far more desirable than a standard reading copy.
For Spider Gwen collectors, Spider Verse fans, and variant hunters, Spider-Gwen #3 B is an attractive modern issue with genuine scarcity and strong display appeal.
